-
Organize & Standardize the craft to meet international quality benchmarks
-
Empower Artisans by training them in contemporary techniques while preserving heritage methods
-
Create Livelihoods by connecting this timeless craft to global platforms, ensuring fair wages and steady employment
By bridging Kashmir's villages to the world, we didn't just preserve a craft - we redefined its future.
The Willow Wicker Collective:
Weaving Kashmir's Heritage into Global Markets

Willow Wicker, known locally as Veer Kani, is a sustainable handicraft deeply rooted in Kashmir's artisanal traditions. Crafted from natural willow stems using completely chemical-free processing methods, this 100% eco-friendly basketry has flourished in the region's cold climate for generations. The craft has maintained a strong local market that has not only encouraged artisans to pass down their skills through families but has also become a significant contributor to both Kashmir's handicraft heritage and local livelihoods. This enduring art form represents the perfect harmony between ecological sustainability and cultural preservation.
